Hi, I'm Jenny, an early-career software engineer and aspiring UI/UX designer.
About Me
In May of 2023, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a minor in Graphic Design from Saint Xavier University in Chicago. I started my degree program with no previous experience with computer science, out of an interest in the inner workings of technology and because of how crucial it is to almost every field imaginable, and ended up graduating Summa Cum Laude. I developed a love for programming, especially in terms of website and software design, and decided to combine my passion for science with my love for the visual arts. Through my undergraduate degree program, I came to discover how much both fields embrace creativity; promote critical, outside of the box thinking; solve complex problems; and advance the capacity and usability of technological products. I find this effort, as well as the impact it has, to be extremely fulfilling. This led me to enroll in DePaul’s Human Computer Interaction Master’s Degree program in April of 2024, with an estimated completion date of May 2026.
In June of 2023, I started working my first full-time at Ace Hardware as one of the software engineers in their resource pool. After completing some exercises in .NET, I was pulled to work on a code migration effort for their DevOps team, during which I became a support engineer during deployments, a CI/CD workflow editor, a code management platform administrator, a project technical lead, and a supervisor of the resource pool. I am learning so much about software, leadership, and business solutions in my role, and I aim to encorporate techniques about human-centered design that I am learning in the process of obtaining my Master's degree.
